Easter 2027 is Sunday, March 28, a week earlier than in 2026, and Virginia Beach City Public Schools’ spring break runs the following week, March 29 to April 2. The egg hunts below are the ones held in recent years; we will swap in the 2027 dates as organizers post them.

Egg hunts

Easter Eggstravaganza at Town Center (free). The Central Business District Association’s egg hunt fills Fountain Plaza at Town Center of Virginia Beach. In 2026 it started at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, the day before Easter, according to Town Center’s April 2026 guide. In 2025 the hunts ran 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children 8 and under, split into ages 1 to 4 and 5 to 8, with photos with the Easter Bunny, live music, a dance contest and face painting. Bring your own basket. It is free while supplies last, rain or shine, and garage parking is free. Some eggs hold toys, so watch small children.

Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Fling at Hunt Club Farm. The farm, 2388 London Bridge Road, lists its most recent event on Easter weekend, April 4 and 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a continuous children’s egg hunt, the Easter Bunny, costumed characters, the petting farm and TreeWalk, hayrides, a DJ and a vendor village, according to its event page:

Farm members get $10 off every ticket. Children 2 and under who are not hunting are free.

Sheriff’s Office Easter Eggstravaganza. In 2025 the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office held a free hunt for children 12 and under at the Virginia Beach Little League Complex, 632 Firefall Drive, noon to 2 p.m. Sat., April 19, with about 4,000 eggs, photos with the Easter Bunny, child ID services and a K-9 demonstration. Children brought their own baskets, and the hunt started at 1:15 p.m. It is canceled only for a downpour. Follow the Sheriff’s Office for 2027.

Easter brunch

Sunrise services

The best known is the Easter sunrise service at the Cape Henry Memorial Cross on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, where the cross marks the 1607 landing. The Navy held its 86th annual service there in 2013, according to the Navy’s photo record. Fort Story is an active base, so check the base’s public notice for the date, time and how civilians get access before you go. What is open and closed

On Easter Sunday 2026 (April 5), Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation closed its administrative offices, recreation centers and indoor facilities, the city said, and city parks stayed open sunrise to sunset. Schools are closed the following week for spring break.
